Silver dish, Roman, 3rd–6th C. AD
The tondo depicts a winged Eros wielding a trident, shown in the act of subduing a hybrid creature. An incised floral border frames the central scene. The marly features later Renaissance engravings, consisting of botanical motifs, fauna, and grotesque hybrids.
